PORTLAND, OR (September 20, 2023) – John’s Marketplace is Oregon’s iconic bottle shop originally established in Multnomah Village in 1999. This year, they opened their third location. This expansion to Beaverton marks the latest milestone for owners Rob and Paul Petros, and they are celebrating with an Open House Weekend at the Hall store October 13 – 15, 11 am - 9 pm daily, which will include festivities, discounts and swag, with a focus on sampling Friday 4 – 7 pm, Saturday 2 – 5 pm, and Sunday Noon – 3 pm.

John’s Marketplace Celebrates Johnstoberfest 2023

John’s Marketplace is hosting their third annual Oktoberfest celebration, on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 2 – 7 pm, at all three store locations: 3535 SW Multnomah Blvd, Portland, OR; 3560 SE Powell Blvd, Portland, OR; 3700 SW Hall, Beaverton, OR.

 

This year’s Johnstoberfest will feature a selection of international classics and local beers, giant pretzels, Zenner’s Oktoberfest beer brats, steinholding contests, and live music from 5 – 7 pm. Susan Schwab, from the Alpine Echoes Band, will be playing accordion at Multnomah; Lynn Haldeman will be playing accordion at Powell; and Frank Stratton playing rock and roll at Hall. John's Marketplace with their friends at Point Blank Distributing, Maui Brewing and other area businesses, recognize the recent fires have had a significant impact on Maui. They have affected the local community and the businesses and livelihoods of many. The challenges posed by homelessness and the displacement of individuals due to the fires add to the existing struggles faced by the people of Maui. A GoFundMe has been established to create a path for donating directly to an established local organization.

The event will feature a selection of barleywines, stouts, dark lagers, and dark sours. Not all dark beer is big beer! Plan to grab lunch with friends from The Original Food Carts surrounding the covered patio, and enjoy sampling the darkest beers. Indoor and outdoor seating will be available.
